Bears Release Trey Burton
According to NBC Sports, The Bears have released TE Trey Burton. Originally signed to a 4 year, $32 million deal, he helped the Bears to the playoffs in his first year on the team catching 54 passses for 569 yards and 6 TDs. Unfortunately, the injury bug struck Burton, highlighted by a mysterious groin strain that kept him from the 2019 playoff game against the Eagles, a team that he won a Super Bowl with the previous season. The Bears recently signed TE Jimmy Graham who figures to be Burton’s replacement, but look for GM Ryan Pace to draft a TE early in the draft which is said to have depth at the position.
