Bears Get Decent Draft Grades From the Experts

According to Larry Meyer at chicagobears.com, the Bears received pretty decent grades from the experts regarding their 2020 draft class. The most notorious analyst, Mel Kiper Jr., gave the Bears a C+ and noted that that he liked the 2nd round picks in Cole Kmet and Jaylon Johnson. He didn’t go into detail about what dragged the grade down, but it most likely has to do with not addressing the offensive line early enough in the draft. Three 5th round picks netted us an OLB project, an undersized corner, and a 1 trick pony wide receiver (speed).

I would give the Bears draft a grade of B. They didnt have a first round pick but Kmet at TE and Jaylon Johnson (CB) are two really good picks and both guys could see a fair amount of playing time this year. Not sure about any of the other picks and I don’t what to say about the O-line, other than they need guys who are going to have some chemistry with the QB this year, whether it is Trubinski or Foles.
