Bears Finally Sign Their Strong Safety
According to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune, the Bears are signing SS Tashaun Gipson who was recently cut by the Texans. Whew. Finally. The safety playing next to Eddie Jackson has been the only glaring hole on an otherwise stacked defense. GM Ryan Pace did nothing in the draft to address the position, so it was apparent that there would be a free agent signing to at least compete with Deon Bush. Well, there won’t be competition for the starting SS position any longer because Gipson is a well accomplished veteran that is the hands down best player we’ve got there. He has 23 career interceptions, and has started all but 2 games in the past 4 years.
