Bears Add More Speed with WR Ted Ginn Jr.
According to Cody Benjamin at CBS Sports, the Bears have added veteran WR Ted Ginn Jr. At 35 years old, he is not the lightning in a bottle he used to be, but he can still fly. Coach Matt Nagy has been on the hunt for speed this offseason after cutting Taylor Gabriel. The Bears selected WR Darnell Mooney and his 4.38 forty time in the 5th round and also signed fellow speeedster and return man Trevor Davis, a former 5th round selection from the Packers. The wide receiver room is looking very full at the moment with 8 bodies (Allen Robinson, Anthony Miller, Javon Wimms, Riley Ridley, Cordarrelle Patterson, Darnell Mooney, Trevor Davis, and now Ted Ginn Jr.). NFL teams usually keep only 6 WR on the 53 man roster while only dressing 5, so it will be interesting to see how camp shakes out to determine who will be on the chopping block. (hint: it’s not looking good for Javon Wimms).
