2nd Round Pick Cole Kmet Film Study
Cole Kmet is a big tight end (6’6, 262) that is surprisingly fluid with his body. He had the highest vertical at the combine for the position, and he has shown the ability to be a versatile weapon on offense by moving around the field. He’s also a physical guy as shown by his willingness to run over defenders rather than run out of bounds, and not being afraid of being hit on crossing routes in the middle of the field. He’s got decent hands, although his hand strength during contested catches seems questionable. He has the size to be an effective blocker in the run game, but he needs to work on his technique. Chris Simms, a former QB in the league has some great things to say on Kmet, and considering the circus that has been the TE position for the Bears in recent years, I like the pick.
